Unless you've been in a coma for the past 10 years…this is old news. More old news, CD sales are down for the 5th straight year and Illegal downloading continues to rip a hole in profits. 

One should not be surprised by record labels targeting vinyl to close the hole in profits. Profits are the name of the game. Managed cost is one way to shore up profits. Nothing more nothing less, it is what it is. The elimination of vinyl is a managing cost move. By putting a strangle hold on vinyl, record companies are free to redirect manufacturing and shipping cost as they see fit.
